Licensing for Accountants merges with law firm

Regulation

A specialist accounting consultancy firm has now announced a merger with a financial services law firm as it looks to broaden its market reach.

By Jotham Lian 11 minute read

Consulting firm Licensing for Accountants will now join law firm Holley Nethercote, having partnered together since July 2018.

The announcement will also see Compact Compliance and Training fall under the Holley Nethercote brand.

Holley Nethercote managing partner Grant Holley, who commenced operations in 1995 with his business partner Tim Nethercote, said the coming together of the three brands was crucial as the industry looks to navigate the regulatory landscape in the wake of the royal commission.

“Holley Nethercote is recognised as one of the leading financial services regulatory firms in Australia. What is often not realised is that Compact Compliance and Training (Compact) is also part of this group,” Mr Holley said.

“Combining the two brands allows clients to see the full range of support and services the group has to offer all in the one place, from fully customised legal services through to our new online portal at the other end — the HN Hub.

“This philosophy of ‘getting it right the first time’ applies equally, if not more so to our training and compliance business, and we felt the Holley Nethercote brand represented that.”

Licensing for Accountants chief executive Kath Bowler welcomed the opportunities the merger would bring.

“Becoming part of the Holley Nethercote group under the brand HN Consulting allows us to provide a wider range of support and services for the increasing number of firms with combined accounting and advisory services,” Ms Bowler said.

“I have been working with Holley Nethercote since July 2018, so the merge was a natural progression for our two businesses.”
