In an update from the ATO, it outlined that it had made a number of improvements for tax professionals to “make it easier” to view clients’ accounts in online services for agents.
The changes detailed in the update include the development of a single system for activity statements and franking deficit tax accounts as well as simplified transaction descriptions for common tax types.
Further changes include a summarised view of statement of account transactions that can be expanded for viewing of full account transaction lists.
Tax agents are also now able to see PAYG withholding director penalty accounts against individual director tax file numbers.
Activity statements changes are also part of the update, which sees payment plans now including direct debit options, and activity statement due dates incorporating eligible concessional due dates, meaning clients will also see the same due date.
According to the ATO, the changes have laid the foundation for future enhancements as the office continues to focus on delivering a reliable and contemporary experience for tax professionals.
