In response to feedback, the ATO is making significant changes to on-demand reports and activity statements for practitioners.

The planned changes will see new fields added to the on-demand outstanding activity statement (current + previous three years) report.
“This will allow you to easily identify where each AS has been delivered and by what channel, easily identify the active role registration types that apply for each client and see whether an AS obligation is eligible for flexible lodgment under disaster support arrangements,” the ATO said.
“There will also be improved data filtering options after you have downloaded the report.”
The ATO will also add new fields to the on-demand income tax lodgment (current + previous three years) report.
This will display whether each income tax period is eligible for flexible lodgment under disaster support arrangements and for the substituted accounting period.

The changes will also see a new digital instalment notice for pay as you go and GST instalments.
This will be available for those who have a digital preference and will contain all the relevant information for your clients to pay their instalment amounts.
It will also be downloadable from client contact history in OSFA, allowing practitioners to easily pass on to clients.
“These changes are being made as a result of your feedback and are designed to improve your user experience and help you in supporting your clients meet their obligations,” the ATO explained.
“We will let you know when these changes are visible in OSFA and will continue to work with you to make improvements to our services.”
