The full end-of-year message from ATO assistant commissioner Sylvia Gallagher:
It’s hard to believe this is our final newsletter for 2020 — a year that has challenged and tested all of us. I would like to acknowledge and thank you all for your commitment, dedication and support during a very challenging year.
The ATO highly values the role tax professionals play in Australia’s tax and super systems, and this year has proved beyond a doubt how important that role is.
We have all been affected by COVID-19 this year, with restrictions and implications disrupting our clients, workplaces and, most importantly, our own personal lives.
We really appreciate the tremendous support you have provided your clients so they could access the government’s COVID-19 stimulus measures such as JobKeeper payments, cash flow boost, early release of super and now JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme.
We understand the events of this year may have a significant impact on you, your clients and your practice. We are committed to providing you with the help you need. We have a range of practical support options available so you can look after your clients, yourself and your loved ones.
Please visit our website to see the range of support options we have available for your clients, and for you and your practice.
In 2021, our commitment to work with you remains our priority as we continue to provide you with the information and resources you need to support your clients.
