Bookkeepers can now enjoy all the great new benefits of Intuit QuickBooks’ re-launched ProAdvisor Program.
Making life easier for bookkeepers
Intuit QuickBooks has just relaunched its popular ProAdvisor Program for accountants and bookkeepers. The initiative delivers more than $2,690 in benefits for members, including free access to QuickBooks Tax and Advanced Payroll features and discounted access to Karbon's implementation and support services.
The ProAdvisor Program is a free loyalty program for QuickBooks Online Accountant subscribers. It supports accountants and bookkeepers to extend their knowledge of QuickBooks through training, customer care, marketing tools and discounts. Bookkeepers earn points every time they complete everyday tasks such as completing training as well as recommending QuickBooks Online to their clients. The more points they earn, the more benefits they can access.
Intuit QuickBooks’ senior solutions engineer Grant Quick says aside from the new benefits bookkeepers can enjoy, many of the ProAdvisor Program’s existing benefits remain in place, such as the exclusive wholesale discount and telephone support.
“When bookkeepers subscribe for QuickBooks Online on behalf of a client, they receive 50 per cent off the retail price of the file, as long as they keep the billing relationship. Some bookkeepers pass on this saving to their clients whereas others bundle it into the services they provide. Bookkeepers can also list their profile on our Find-a-ProAdvisor directory so small businesses that are looking for a QuickBooks-certified bookkeeper or accountant can easily find them,” says Quick.
Simplifying tax time
Access to the Australian Taxation Office’s tax portal to lodge clients’ ATO forms is a great new benefit of the re-launched ProAdvisor Program, in addition to unlimited use of the software’s e-signature functionality to streamline admin and compliance.
“This is a huge benefit for bookkeepers, who can now easily lodge their clients’ BAS and IAS through the software. Once they have completed a client’s activity statements, it’s really easy to send this information to their client to review. When the client signs off the documentation, the bookkeeper can then submit the form to the ATO electronically. It’s an important step forward for many bookkeepers because the review process has traditionally been manual, slow and a bugbear,” Quick says.
“Being able to message clients to let them know their BAS is complete and ready to review and sign off makes the process so much easier and faster. Bookkeepers can also track what’s been signed and lodged from one place.”
Where do I sign?
To join the ProAdvisor Program, all you need to do is create a QuickBooks Online Accountant account (it’s free) and then once logged in, simply follow the link to the ProAdvisor benefits.
From 1 April, bookkeepers will also be able to access Advanced Payroll features for free for their own business. They can track time using QuickBooks Time for their own practice at no cost, allowing them to easily manage timesheets, sync them with their accounts and track staff spending.
Delivering for bookkeepers
Commenting on the re-launch, Intuit QuickBooks’ spokesperson Meagan Wood said, “We are constantly speaking to bookkeepers to find new ways to support them. So, we’re really excited to be adding benefits in the ProAdvisor Program that will support our bookkeeping community.
“Now more than ever, accountants and bookkeepers play an integral role in the success of Australia’s small business ecosystem. So, we remain committed to helping them on their business journeys and finding new ways that enable them to support their clients.”
Jimmy Nguyen from DKM Accounting, an Intuit QuickBooks customer and veteran ProAdvisor, is excited about the program’s relaunch.
“I’ve been part of ProAdvisor since it started. It’s been a huge benefit to my practice. The new features will help us further streamline our operations, especially QuickBooks Tax, which will save us more than $2,000 a year, money we can put back into the business,” says Nguyen.
“Unlike other cloud accounting tools, QuickBooks Tax is software agnostic. So, we can pull in a file from Xero or MYOB to do a BAS return. It’s a no-brainer for us and a huge win for our clients, too.
The new ProAdvisor Program benefits will be automatically available from 23 March to all existing Intuit QuickBooks clients and those who sign up to QuickBooks Online Accountant.
