One national tax and accounting network has created ties with Airbnb in an effort to improve the methods by which ‘hosts’ lodge and pay their taxes.

The goal of the newly inked deal is to provide those earning income through Airbnb with sufficient tools and knowledge to efficiently and correctly lodge their returns.
H&R Block will provide discounted services to Airbnb hosts, as well as free advice and tax-related tips via the community page of its website and face-to-face events.
“Airbnb is an ideal partner for H&R Block as we seek to respond to the ever more complex needs of the Australian taxpayer, and deliver innovation across the board and wherever possible,” said Melinda Spencer, marketing director for H&R Block.
Sam McDonagh, Airbnb’s Australia country manager, noted that a significant number of Australian hosts are everyday people paying tax and that this partnership will help them continue to do so effectively.
“We’re thrilled to partner with H&R Block to make it easier for hosts to pay their taxes and contribute to their communities – an important part of our ongoing work to support hosts and make communities stronger and more sustainable,” said Mr McDonagh.
