Planned downtime for the ATO’s portals this weekend have seen further unexpected outages for vital services, such as the tax agent portal, up to this morning.
Some tax agents said they were receiving notifications that the systems were back up and running, when they were not.
This follows further downtime on Friday and Saturday.
Stabilising its digital systems is a priority for the ATO ahead of tax time this year, and this combined with the widespread system failure in December last year has seen the delay of its new service for tax professionals, ATO Online.
“All IT projects under development to improve tax practitioner services are on hold, and maintaining stability of the current systems is priority one, two and three,” said the Institute of Public Accountants' Tony Greco earlier this year.
