A cloud version of HandiTax, Sage’s electronic tax lodgement software, has been launched, allowing customers to access real time data at any time via a browser.
The release comes close to 18 months after Sage first announced it was planning on releasing a cloud version in June 2016.
According to Sage, accountants will be able to create, lodge and track IAS, BAS and tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, SMSFs and trusts.
Sage director Michael Farrell said tax compliance work was thriving, citing research that showed the services representing 22 per cent of all accounting services, valued at $4.3 billion.
“The accounting industry has rightly been focusing on the shift towards advisory services, but tax is not dead. In fact, tax and compliance are often the starting point for generating further value added advisory services for practices,” said Mr Farrell.
“Sage HandiTax is used by more than 7,000 accountants to lodge millions of tax returns every year, and we will continue to drive innovation in this vital segment of the market.”
