Earlier in December, Lawpath announced it was broadening its on-demand, subscription legal services to also include accounting, so as to better help millions of Australian SMBs.
The offering, the provider said in a statement, comes through a partnership with local accounting outfit, POP Business, and sees the two offering a joint legal and accounting subscription service.
The news follows Lawpath’s raising of $7.5 million in funding in October of this year.
Speaking about the new offering, Lawpath CEO Dominic Woolrych said that the provider has seen “tremendous growth” in businesses seeking on-demand legal advice, and with it, a strong demand for an accounting and company secretary equivalent.
“This year we’ve witnessed an explosion of new business formations that have been spearheaded by a large number of first-time entrepreneurs. Offering crucial advice in legal and accounting helps these businesses to go all in,” he outlined.
“We found small businesses were looking for a worry-free solution where they could combine their legal, accounting and company compliance into one fixed price subscription. We’ve partnered with POP Business to offer small businesses an affordable offering that will keep their business compliant and on the right side of the law.”
POP Business CEO Pat Sargent added that given pricing shocks, businesses are increasingly in need of ongoing support and guidance.
“We saw this through the latest pandemic where our advisory solutions helped thousands of businesses survive and get through a turbulent period by receiving proactive advice on access to government grants, financial support and other advisory services,” he said.
“There is an increasing overlap between legal and accounting, and so this partnership with Lawpath will ensure businesses right around Australia receive expert on demand advice to stay ahead and succeed with their business operations.”
