Accountants Direct signs up Annature

Technology

The partnership will streamline e-signing for corporate and personal tax returns.

Homegrown Australian e-signing specialist Annature is expanding its client base thanks to a partnership with Accountants Direct.

Chief executive of Accountants Direct Stephen Burns said the facility would be a boon to the tax preparation specialists.

“We now have the latest technology, with up-to-date compliance and our 50 consultants nationwide are now confident about the security of all our data and the fact it remains onshore,” he said.

“We don’t white label Annature because we want to showcase a standout Aussie brand – and we’re very familiar with the calibre of the Annature team from a previous relationship under the NowInfinity brand.”

The company signed with Annature, Mr Burns said, to help meet the challenges of executing contracts quickly and to allow its client base to seamlessly check final tax documents.

It can now send customers an SMS with a link to digitally sign their returns to the ATO.

Annature CEO and founder Amreeta Abbott, who previously worked at NowInfinity, said she was “proud to continue our relationship with Stephen and his team”.

Ms Abbott said that the partnership reflected the growth it has seen across a broad range of industries.

“That’s because of our capacity to seamlessly integrate with any system and execute agreements and the client process in one transaction, on one platform,” said Ms Abbott.

Annature offers an e-signing system with an integrated digital signature, identity certification and payments platform built on blockchain technology.

It integrates with the world’s most popular document management solutions and cloud storage providers. It also provides bank-grade security underpinned by ISO 27001 certification and keeps data, documents and client information housed in Australia.

Mr Burns said Accountants Direct would look at adding other Annature services, Mr Burns said.

“We’ll consider Annature’s ID verification for impending compliance of new clients in line with Tax Practitioners Board guidelines.”

Since its establishment 10 years ago, Accountants Direct has serviced over 45,000 clients, assisted almost 11,000 businesses and transferred tax refunds in excess of $81 million.

Accountants Direct is scaling for growth by targeting clients missing out on benefits by doing their own tax returns, particularly those who would benefit from a documented digital trail to claim entitlements from investments in shares or property.

The partnership with Accountants Direct comes after Annature achieved 500 per cent growth in the last financial year.

Launched in 2020 Annature has seen exponential growth since then. Its technology is compliant with in-country legislation and globally, with countries worldwide mandating proof of identity requirements for e-signing for government and private business.
