Seamlss launches client onboarding app for Xero

Software automates the collection of key details and identification prior to first meeting.

Seamlss has launched a digital onboarding app designed to automate data collection of client details and push them into Xero Practice Manager (XPM).

Co-founder of Seamlss Clayton Wood said it was important for firms to embrace automation and streamline the onboarding process to make it more effective.

“Seamlss empowers organisations to collect their client’s details, business entities details, e-sign engagement letters and verify the client’s identity in the cloud effortlessly,” said Mr Wood.

He said his experience as an accountant and running his own firm, Business Edge Advisors, had helped him improve the process.

“That’s one of the key benefits of doing and building something that I know I need, and I’ve talked to lots of other people, they all want it and need it,” he said.

“We’ve only got a small portion of what we want to be done built now as obviously everything takes time and costs money, so hopefully over the next few months we’ll ramp it up, get some more people on board and start making more connections.”

Mr Wood said XPM was chosen as he believed its clients would embrace it fastest, but he hoped to expand Seamlss further.

“XPM was the main kicker for me because it has the ideal client for Seamlss in a sense that if they are using XPM they are online and already using digital tools so they are already looking for a digital solution to do the onboarding automatically for them,” said Mr Wood.

“Using Seamlss you send out a link, the client keys in all their data themselves and you push a button and it injects as much data as we physically can into XPM.”

Mr Wood hoped the partnership with XPM would expand so Seamlss could put all the information it collected into the system.

“We’d love to be able to take the bank account details and put them in there but we can’t physically do that as we don’t have access,” said Mr Wood.

Mr Wood said Seamlss enabled firms to offer clients a better onboarding experience because the collection of key data, identification, and engagement letters was already done before the first meeting.

“Tax season is upon us, and firms are using Seamlss to onboard clients and collect individual tax return data before their client meetings,” he said.

“Seamlss allows firms to speed up the processing time as well as enable better engagement and outcomes for clients.”

Seamlss had been in the pipeline for almost two years, Mr Wood said, and followed his development of Refund Express, “the first mobile-friendly online tax return solution”.
