Client engagement and commerce platform Ignition has released its first CPD course for accountants and bookkeepers looking to upskill.
Co-founder and chief product officer at Ignition, Dane Thomas, said the course, Ignition Certification Program, was aimed at accountants of all experience levels.
“We’re investing in platform innovation to further assist accountants and bookkeepers solve their critical challenges in connecting with clients,” said Mr Thomas.
“Our certification course caters for all accounting skill levels to help them understand the Ignition platform; embed automation in their practice; and free them up for higher value work and advisory — all while earning CPD points.”
Ignition said that the course would provide participants with access to 40 lessons curated on Thinkific that are recognised by industry professionals and member associations.
Head of APAC at Ignition, David New, said that the program could assist accounting firms that were struggling with the tight labour market.
“In Australia, many accounting firms are facing an ongoing shortage of talent to service their clients’ needs,” said Mr New.
“Flexible learning arrangements, like Ignition’s Certification Program, are a great way to upskill and ensure technical skills and capabilities can evolve with client expectations.
“Importantly, this highlights the continued investment Ignition is making in the industry to help position accounting firms as trusted advisers for their clients, future-proof their practice, and attract the best talent to their firm with market leading client engagement software.”
Ignition said that the course also offered functional training on how to best use its platform, which included:
- How to create proposals and email templates
- Automating payments and billing information
- Cloud accounting integrations such as connecting to Xero and Intuit Practice Management
In Australia, Canada and the UK, participants were eligible for four hours of verifiable CPD, and in the US two hours of CPE.
