Deloitte Australia has acquired innovation and venture growth consultancy firm Glass to bolster its consulting arm.
Brisbane-based Glass, which helps organisations transform through data and technology, broadened Deloitte’s offer to clients said consulting managing partner Ellen Derrick.
“Innovation and venture growth are key issues for so many of our clients, and driving business strategy and positive change through opportunities via data and technology solutions is a core focus for our consulting business,” said Ms Derrick.
“Just as Intellify and Fusion labs teams have been a strong and natural fit, so is the team from Glass.”
“They bring strategy, innovation, growth, data analytics and technology enablement together to deliver lasting competitive advantage and value.”
Founded in 2017, Glass works with clients across several industries to shape their strategy, innovation, and data and technology-led transformation.
Deloitte confirmed the Glass co-founders Erin McCarthy and Wayne Custodio would become consulting partners once the acquisition was completed.
Ms McCarthy said she was excited by the many possibilities and resources both she and her team would have by joining Deloitte.
“Organisations that modernise their technology platforms and create impactful digital experiences that are future-proof and human-centred are the ones that are going to succeed,” she said.
“As a smaller, future-focused digital consulting agency, Glass has been successful in its chosen markets in creating innovative co-designed experiences and digital solutions for our clients.”
“In Deloitte, we’ve connected with like minds and motives, the firm has such a strong market presence in Queensland, Australia and globally, and we’re excited to be part of a bigger picture in terms of opportunity for our clients and our people.”
Mr Custodio said Glass had achieved substantial success in a short time but was looking forward to joining Deloitte with the firm’s shared vision.
“Understanding the forces that are radically changing how organisations work in the new digital economy will help maximise the potential for innovation and success, and on this front, our specialist and talented team has achieved a great deal in a short time in terms of market position and client impact,” said Mr Custodio.
“Deloitte’s vision and mission really resonate with us. The culture and values are so closely aligned to ours that it makes this an incredibly exciting move.”
“It’s a logical next step and a case of the right time and the right place.”
Deloitte Consulting’s lead partner of strategy and business design Kellie Nuttall said the addition of Glass would bring further innovation expertise to the firm.
“Digital transformation driven by innovation is so important for organisations wanting to adapt to changing market conditions, meet customer expectations, succeed and grow. But getting innovation right – from clear strategy development to purposeful execution – is also challenging,” said Dr Nuttall.
“The Glass team is highly credentialled in working with clients to implement high value, end-to-end tech-enabled digital transformation, and the integrated delivery of growth, innovation and digital and AI ventures.”
“The arrival of Erin, Wayne and team will add greater scale and another layer to our client offerings across creative design, accelerated insights, ecosystem and technology alliance partner activation.”
