The Access Group has announced the launch of ‘Access Evo’, a new software platform for accountants focused on data security.
The announcement was made at the Access All Areas event held at the Esplanade Hotel in Melbourne last Wednesday.
The event was solely focused on bringing members of the accounting industry together and consisted of 23 panel sessions and hosted almost 40 speakers.
One of the sessions included the announcement and demonstration of Access Evo which was described as a technology platform that would become part of all Access products.
The Access Group said the new platform would produce a unique AI-driven software experience for all customers.
“Access Evo is the biggest technology investment in Access history. The platform will be added to all products in our Accountants portfolio,” it said.
“This means that our APS, HandiSoft, Elite and Access Accountants customers will all benefit from new, AI-driven capabilities made available by the Evo platform.”
“The platform is focused on bringing next-generation AI, data and integration technologies to all Access-owned applications, opening up a new world of exciting capabilities regardless of their background.”
The Evo platform would have a strengthened focus on data security and was built with a three-tier security model which would enable confidence in customers to use the software safely and securely.
The three tiers of the security model included company security, user profile permissions and individual confidentiality.
According to the group, these three features would ensure no customer data would leave the controlled infrastructure, the company’s use of AI would remain within a secure environment, and an individual’s use of the systems would remain confidential.
The Access Group APAC president Kerry Agiasotis said the company developed the platform in mind that being an accountant was now “harder than ever.”
“The current overwhelming sentiment was that it’s never been harder to do the job,” Agiasotis said.
“We’re navigating a far more complex environment, and that isn’t going to abate as clients are now also expecting more of you.”
“They expect the things you’ve been doing for them better, faster, cheaper and they expect that you’ve got the capabilities in your business to help them do what they need to.”
To aid in client demands, the group said the key functionalities of Evo included a copilot, a personalised feed and the power to use the platform via mobile.
The Access Group noted the cost of this new technology was high and using AI was expensive, yet it was willing to pay it.
“We are investing heavily on behalf of our customers to bring these new technologies to our customers through innovative and affordable ways,” the group said.
“The value delivered in terms of the users’ ability to make productivity gains will far outweigh the increase in cost.”
