The acquisition of Dataweave, a leading Oracle integrator, will strengthen the firm’s local capabilities in Oracle, identity management and cloud solution delivery.

Craig Smith, leader of Deloitte’s Oracle practice in Australia, said Dataweave was targeted to meet growing client demand for specialist digital services.

“The joining of Deloitte and Dataweave is in response to client demand, particularly around the transition to cloud solutions,” Mr Smith said.

“This transaction is the next step in executing Deloitte’s strategy of investment to bolster its Oracle capabilities in the region. Bringing the team from Dataweave into Deloitte will extend the firm’s capability to shape and support the C-Suite agenda.”

Commenting on the acquisition, Robert Hillard, managing partner of Deloitte Consulting, said, “The joining of Deloitte and the directors and staff of Dataweave brings together exactly the capabilities that Australian business and government are looking for to support their business transformation goals and deal with changing markets, technology and client expectations.”

Dataweave is an independent Oracle Systems Integrator delivering configuration, implementation and support services for Oracle software. The 40-person firm provides a full range of services to public sector and commercial organisations that use Oracle to support their business, including consultancy services; systems integration; application development; managed services; software licences; and hardware services.

Dataweave managing director Norman Weaver said joining Deloitte provides his firm with greater opportunity to leverage its infrastructure to support the growth of its business.

"Deloitte’s brand, scale and breadth of services provides access to a broader set of opportunities for career advancement for the incoming staff and increased potential to grow their careers.," Mr Weaver said.
