The newly announced split-screen multitasking feature enables iPad users to use two apps side by side simultaneously, a feature that had previously been reserved for laptop usage.
Xero noted that prior to their support for this feature, users were forced to close the Xero app in order for iOS to open a browser. Small businesses now have the ability to view orders from clients whilst creating an invoice, or create expense claims whilst viewing receipts at the same time.
Luke Gumbley, Xero product manager, noted that a whole host of tasks that had previously forced users to put down their iPad and rely on their laptops are now able to be performed with greater ease and efficiency.
“Convenience and efficiency are two of the reasons people use mobile devices to get things done,” said Mr Gumbley.
“Business owners tell us they want more efficiency in their business operations to save them time. The key is to ensure they have access to the right tools for the right task, no matter their size. Xero’s split screen for multitasking app on iPads will give business owners back valuable time.”
Alongside the introduction of the multi-tasking feature, Xero has announced 3D touch support on iPhone 6s devices, allowing users to ‘peek and pop’ into their invoices, receipts and contacts.
