The firm announced at its Singapore roadshow that it will be opening an office in Singapore, as well as strategic partnerships with Visa and United Overseas Bank (UOB).
“Asia is experiencing a substantial shift to the cloud and uptake of technology amongst small businesses,” said Andy Lark, Xero’s chief marketing and business officer.
“With millions of small businesses across the Asia region it is important for Xero to expand its presence and cement relationships with partners like UOB and Visa, and help the region’s accountants, bookkeepers and small businesses to thrive and grow.”
To meet demand and drive growth, Xero has appointed Alex Campbell as regional managing director. Joining from STW Communications Group, Mr Campbell will lead Xero’s growth into Asia, focusing initially on the key markets of Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
“I am excited at the opportunity to establish Xero in the region and build on the success of its global business,” said Mr Campbell.
“We’re committed to helping small businesses in the region grow, as well as working with the accountants and partners who serve them."
